Hydrogen Jukebox Project

The CSULA Opera performed Philip Glass’s opera Hydrogen Jukebox in 2015. It’s complex texts by Allen Ginsberg prompted us to enlist the help of the Center for Poetry and Poetics on campus headed up by Lauri Ramey. Since the piece invoked the word “Hydrogen” we approached the Hydrogen Station on campus to join us. One of the pieces in the show is called “Green Automobile” and we used that piece to go to Environmental Awareness Events along with the dean of the Charter School of Education to raise awareness for opera, poetry, and hydrogen fuel as a green alternative. It was a great project and everyone was able to benefit.  See the photos from this project below.
